Where does one go about finding their own International Canoe to terrorize the local pond? Well, the good news is you've got lots of choices. There are no restrictions on materials for building the IC and competitive hulls are to be found in traditional wood as well as modern high tech materials. There are builders in Canada, the US, England, and Australia who will build to order but many ICs are built by amateurs at home. Second hand boats are commonly available. While the International Canoe's hull shape is controlled (deck and sail plan are "open" within wide restrictions), North America and Sweden have National Classes (NC) which allow hull shape experimentation and development. In the past ten years in the US, many plywood chine NC boats have been built to five different designs. | ||||
