Scott Moser (Selvidge Middle School - 235 New Ballwin Rd., Ballwin, MO U.S.A.)
"I have been teaching 7th Grade Science 14 years, all of which at Selvidge Middle School. I am also an avid outdoors person, enjoy hiking, boating, hunting, and fishing. Also, I am a hobby beekeeper. About 10 years ago, I became interested in beekeeping, after reading a passage about beekeepers in an old Life Science book. I began that year with 2 hives in my backyard, and my hobby has now grown to about 100 colonies of bees scattered throughout Franklin and Jefferson Counties. From this interest in bees, I have become President of the Jefferson County Beekeepers Association, and Vice President of the Missouri State Beekeepers Association. And to answer the two most popular questions: Yes, the bees do sting, and yes, no matter how many times you get stung it still hurts! Though on the positive side, they say beekeepers don't get arthritis. I guess there is a bright side to everything..." Email: moserscott@rockwood.k12.mo.us

Yushkevich Valentina Alekseevna (Belorussia)
Teacher of Social Sciences, Belorussian Language and Literature at Matrunkovskaya basic school (Matrunki village, Gomelskaya oblast). "...I used to live in the city, but now moved with my parents to the country house. As the only child, I want most of all to continue our family tradition - beekeeping. My father has 60 years of experience with the bees. He is 86 now, and my mother is 80, so I had to take care of all the household. I like the land where I live, but beekeeping gives me special pleasure. We have 20 colonies. My salary as a teacher is good enough, I think - enough for living, including the car, and the computer. Two daughters Diana (6th grade) and Svetlana (10th grade) help me to keep things running."
